The new Metro Supermarket at Oriental Mall, opposite La Strada, Nabq Bay is now open and it is about 7 mins away by bus or taxi. It is excellent.
There are many smaller supermarkets around in all areas.
However, for fruit and veg, I like to use the stalls in the Old Town Market; it is about 20-25 mins. away, but well worth the trip. Stock up whilst you’re there. You’ll love looking around Old Sharm anyway. Buy your Arabic bread here hot from the oven. (Why not spend the day on Sharm Bay beach, and then mooch among the stalls of the old market before you go home!)
Naama Bay and Old Sharm have numerous shops, cafes and restaurants,
Nabq Bay is a new and developing area and each area has a distinct character. Naama Bay and Old Sharm's choice of cafes and restaurants include those specialising in Egyptian and Arabic food, wonderful seafood, and Italian cuisine as well as the internationally recognised names.
Enjoy haggling for spices, Sheeshas (Hubble Bubble pipes), pashminas, silver jewellery, papyrus, perfumes and beautiful glass wear and many, many more souvenirs in Naama Bay and Old Sharm, and only pay about half of the asking price. Shopkeepers will try and talk you into coming into their shops and can be quite persistent. Do not be offended by this, however if you’re not interested in looking or buying be polite but firm.
Egyptians love this kind of banter so enter into the spirit of it and have fun.
