| FACILITIES and GETTING ABOUT |
Our Egyptian staff are helpful and friendly; they will give you all the information you need, and help in any way to make your holiday enjoyable.
In our office you’ll find food and provisions enough to keep you going until you get to the supermarket. The Metro Supermarket is excellent and just 5 mins bus ride away at Oriental Mall. They will deliver for just LE5 a time to suit you.
Our pool bar is open all day serving snacks, light meals and soft drinks and beverages. Frequently ‘chef’ and his friendly team offer evening meals
‘under the stars’, or in the Restaurant/Social Room by the pool. There is a Sunday Night BBQ by the pool, please pre-book.
There is a “Drinks Delivery” company (yes, alcoholic drinks!!), and
a “Ready-Home-Made-Meals” delivery company.
Both highly recommended.
Details are in the ‘Welcome Folder’ in the apartment.
At our laundry on site our staff will do your washing at very reasonable prices. Daily, or ad hoc, cleaning of the apartment, or just the floors,
can be arranged.
Our staff can organise taxis, tours, and trips if you wish, and transport and passes to several local beaches. There is also a taxi/tour company on the complex run be Norita and Mohammed. Their prices are similar to the office prices, or they can do a weekly taxi rate for you.
Contact them on dolfentours@gmail.com
Of course, you can always hail a ‘blue and white’ taxi on the street, but don’t forget to haggle on the price before you get in!!!!!
But a fun way to get around is by local ‘micro-bus’; they pick up and put down anywhere on their route, are very cheap and run from Nabq through Naama to
Old Sharm. They are used by locals and tourists alike, and are safe;
I use them all the time even travelling alone.
And Glenne and Hayley, who live on our resort, help run a car hire company.
I can give you their contact details if you’d like them.
Although Egypt is a Muslim country, mostly Sunni, it is very relaxed and welcoming to visitors from all over the world.
There are Christian churches as well Mosques in Sharm.
Dress code in Sharm is very informal and laid-back, but as a mark of respect we suggest ladies do not sunbathe topless.
Alcohol is readily available in restaurants and supermarkets everywhere.
And responsible drinking is acceptable.
Also, for your information, it is illegal for an Egyptian to stay overnight in the home of a non-family member. |
